(1919-1993) Ohio native and Texas modernist DeForrest Judd lived most of his life in Dallas and taught at Southern Methodist University. Judd graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1938 and later studied at the Colorado Spring Fine Arts Center under Otis Dozier. Judd’s semi-abstract landscapes are known for their bold use of color. His work was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art and elsewhere and is contained in the permanent collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and Dallas Museum of Art.
