Texas Art Expo Returns Aug 5-6

This affordable, intimate and usually packed show is open to dealer’s, galleries and self-representing artists focusing on Early Texas Art.

FORT WORTH, TX–Texas Art Expo will return the Fort Worth Community Arts Center Aug 5-6, 2016. Presented by Urban Art & Antiques LLC, the show was produced for more than a decade of production by the Collectors of Fort Worth Art. Now in its 13th year, the show remains a popular summer favorite.

“Each year collectors find treasures, beginners discover a world of Texas art and in several occasions, items from the show have landed in museum collections,” says Eric Miller, promoter of Texas Art Expo. “It’s a focused show with high-quality items.”

The show includes a dozen or more dealers displaying oil and watercolor paintings, prints, drawings, and other works by Texas artists, including several self-representing artists displaying their earlier work.

“The term ‘Early Texas Art’ can be a little misleading,” Miller says explaining that works from as late as the 1970s can be included. “It’s not only landscapes and western scenes, but includes abstract and modern work.

“Early Texas Art includes a wealth of variety and style.”

Since taking on the show from the Art Collectors of Fort Worth, Miller says both attendance and the number and quality of offerings has continued to improve.

“This is a show the best dealers in the state won’t miss,” Miller says.
